Welcome To Smile SF

First visit – setting new patient expectations

Before Your Appointment

In order to save you time once you arrive at Smile SF, we want you to be aware of the process we follow with every new patient…

  • First, you will receive our welcome email with important information to make your first visit as smooth as possible. You have the convenient option of completing our new patient forms right here on our website and emailing them directly to our team. If you’d rather fill them out in-person, please arrive 20 minutes before your appointment time.
  • If you have had recent dental x-rays that are less than a year old, please have them emailed to us prior to your appointment.
  • Taking advantage of benefits? Be sure to text or email us an image of the front and back of your dental insurance card. This allows us to verify details of your insurance benefits and have the information ready prior to your appointment. Alternatively, text or email us the name of the dental insurance, your insurance ID #, group #, your date of birth, and insurance phone #.

At Your First Visit

Be prepared to be greeted warmly by our team who will review our process and all pertinent information. You will receive a tour of the office.

  • We will obtain photographic and radiographic images of your teeth and smile. Dr. Farah will use these visual aids to better review with you your concerns and your treatment options. Dr. Farah will spend time to get to know you and your dental concerns and goals. She will conduct a comprehensive examination which includes a visual oral cancer check and a thorough examination of your gums, teeth, bite, and smile. You may choose to receive an additional oral cancer screening with a scope that allows her to catch early dysplasia or changes. Detection in early-stage cancer allows for better treatment outcome.
  • Dr. Farah will review her findings and your different treatment options, answer all your questions, and directly involve you in tailoring the best treatment plan for you.
  • You may or may not receive a teeth cleaning. This is dependent on the condition of your gums and the type of teeth cleaning or gum treatment that is appropriate for you. We may have to set aside the appropriate time on another date.
